Ask KP

Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't - let's see this time.  Do you have a question to ask me about anything?  If so, just post it below, and I'll answer as much as I can.

  1. What got you into the damsel in distress theme?:)

  2. A combination of three or four things. Firstly, growing up in the 60's and 70's in the UK meant you could watch adult shows like The Saint, The Protectors, The Baron, and such like, while kid's TV had Freewheelers, Ace of Wands, The Tomorrow People, all of which had the DiD theme. Also, Thriller - the UK version. Later, I saw films like Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot for the first time.

Secondly, and related, the comic books of the 70's were a gold mine - with writers like Michael Fliesher, Lois Lane in trouble evry month - bu tin the UK, we had the Fleetway/IPC and DC Thomson comics. I have older sisters, and believe me - the girl's comics were more fruitful than the boys in that field.

As I grew older, I discovered the detective magazines at the newsagents - the pre-Reece ones, with those classic covers. I also discovered the soft porn books with titles like The Baroness...

I also played the occasional game as a kid, but the first three were the major influences on me.

    1. Many thanks. My own experiences had a few of those things. The tv shows played a huge influence on me too, although I never really got into the comic books. One of my favourite tv shows, was 'The Adventures of Superman' with the late George Reeves playing the Man of Steel.George played his character brilliantly in the show, and it was great to see hin flying in to rescue Lois Lane, bound and gagged,as well as many other pretty actresses!
The more modern Superman tv version with Dean Cain,is still a huge favourite of mine too.I thought Teri Hatcher playing Lois was brilliant, and it was still superb to see Dean rescue her so many times,as well as her tied up and gagged.Although I did hear at times, that Teri wasn't happy about being bound and gagged. To me,and if it was true,I would just shake my head in disbelief at Teri. That was her character's role.Such a shame we don't see,or hardly anything like that now.Still some great memories though, and always something to watch in the dvd collection!:)

  3. I too was influenced by TV and movies. Batman was my favorite and seeing Francine York bound and gagged in the back of the bookmobile is still one of my favorite bondage scenes. Back in teh 60s and 70s we would go to a local candy store and look at teh covers of detective magazines, with the over teh top stories and a damsel-in-distress on every cover or so it seemed.

KP you run a first class site. Thank you.

    1. Well, for the UK read John Menzies or the local newsagent for the drug store, but I know where you're coming from Pat.

      Thanks for the kind words.
